Directorate of Western Circle,the office of the Survey of Pakistan, Quetta was established in 1964. The purpose of establishing the directorate was to study and monitor effects of the crucial changes induced by seismic activities on the geodetic network. The directorate is responsible for surveying and mapping activities with two field units and one cartographic office. The operational area includes Balochistan Province. The directorate has a long list of huge and very prestigious, extra department survey operations carried out throughout length and breadth of Balochistan. The directorate has eminent responsibility of relocation and demarcation of international boundary pillars for maintaining alignment of Pakistan international borders with Iran and Afghanistan.
